Salvation

The gift of Salvation

The first step to salvation is the awareness and acknowledgement that we are sinners and need a way out of sin; we therefore need God’s saving grace.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. But they are justified freely by his grace through the redemption (salvation) that is in Christ Jesus.”  – Romans 3:23 (NET).

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” – 1st John 1:8-9 (NET).

Having accepted our condition of the innate nature of sin and therefore our inability to know God – we open our hearts to God’s grace and accept Jesus Christ by faith as our salvation. We then participate in God’s gift of eternal life that is in Christ Jesus. All who welcome Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives are reborn spiritually, receiving new life from God. Through faith in Jesus Christ, you are transformed from inside out – your attitude, desire, and motives are redirected to God’s will.

The confession of your conviction about JESUS CHRIST set in SALVATION in your life.

“Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and thus has righteousness and with the mouth one confesses and thus has salvation.” – Romans 10:9-10.

“He said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 And they answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus [as your personal Savior and entrust yourself to Him] and you will be saved, you and your household” 32  And they spoke the word of the Lord [concerning eternal salvation through faith in Christ] to him and to all who were in his house.” – Acts 16:30-32 (AMP).

”For, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” – Romans 10:13.

Let’s pray: Lord Jesus, I come to you today accepting that I am a sinner who needs your saving grace. By faith I receive you into my life to be Lord and Savior. Thank you Jesus that you died on the cross and resurrected on the 3rd day for me, that I might become the child of God. Through your Holy Spirit I am born-again. Thank you Lord for the salvation of my soul, amen!

The Bible says God has removed your sins as far from you as the east is from the west. Psalms 103:12.

You have been given grace to resist sin and to overcome evil by good. You are empowered through righteousness to subject yourself to the obedience of Christ and you are free to pursue and exercise spiritual gifts.

Now that you are a Christian, you need to belong to a healthy church – to be part of the Body of Christ. We can help you grow in the knowledge of Christ Jesus.

*NB, this prayer is not your final step to salvation but your first step. The prayer will mean nothing if you do not follow it up with serious commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ.
